Bob was born in Edinboro on May 5, 1933 and passed away at his home in Millville on Friday, May 28, 2021 at age 88, surrounded by his family.
He grew up in Edinboro and served with the U. S. Army before attending and graduating from Edinboro State Teachers College (now Edinboro University). He went on to receive his master’s degree.
Bob married Julia R. Renner in 1956 and together they have five children: Juliet (Steve), Linda (Paul), Katherine, Jon, and Anita (John); numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Eleanor Turnage and Edith Raun.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Bob and Julia moved to Millville in 1958 when “Mr. D.” accepted a position with the Millville School District as an art teacher and also served as a class advisor for 30 years.
He belonged to several organizations promoting the Arts. He was an early member of the PA Guild of Craftsmen and served as chapter president several times. He also was an early member of the North Mountain Art League, assisting with shows and serving as president as well.
Bob served his entire time in Millville as a member of the Millville Fire Company and Ambulance Association, becoming an EMT in 1972. He later became certified to instruct EMT’s and EMT instructors in mass trauma, extrication and farm rescue, receiving awards from several governors.
He was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg where he was a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus and also an extraordinary minister of holy communion.
Bob sang with the SPEBSQUA Barbershop chorus and assisted with their annual shows. He also taught and advised on numerous theater productions with Bloomsburg University.
He served as president and as a board member of the Eos Therapeutic Riding Center for over 25 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 10:30 a. m. in St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron Street, Bloomsburg by his pastor, Monsignor Robert E. Lawrence. The family will greet friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a. m.

A meal of fellowship will take place at 12:30 p.m. at the Millville Fire Hall, 28 W Main St., Millville, following the Mass.
