Michael D. "Mike" Queen

August 7, 1987 ~ August 7, 2021 (age 34)

Michael D. “Mike” Queen, age 34, died at home on the afternoon of his birthday, Saturday, August 7, 2021.

Mike was born in Somers Point, NJ, on August 7, 1987. He was a 2006 graduate of Central Columbia High School.

He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, Phillies, and 76ers fan and especially loved the Eagles Super Bowl win over the Patriots in 2018.

He loved playing hockey growing up. Mike enjoyed golfing with his dad, reading, and he loved the beach at Sea Isle City, NJ, where he spent his summers with his sister Alison when they were younger.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Donna J. Queen, on September 25, 2016.

He is survived by his father, Michael H. Queen, of Bloomsburg; three beautiful daughters, Khloe, and twins Emberlee and Ellowynn, of Bloomsburg, a sister, Alison Wehrung, and her husband Alex, of Fisherville, VA; two half-brothers: Adam S. Murphy, and his wife Amy, of Douglassville and Ryan M. Murphy, and his wife Ginny, of Wilmington, DE; paternal grandmother, Alberta A. Kincaid, of Gastonia, NC; two aunts: Linda Ferrelli, and her husband Bill, of NJ and Sherry Hite, and her husband Grear, of NC; several cousins in NC, SC, and NJ and three nieces and a nephew in VA, PA and DE.

Mike died alone in his room as the result of an accidental drug overdose. He hated his addiction and what his addiction did to the people that loved him. Every day he hated living that way. He hated that he couldn’t break the grip addiction had on him.

His death ended an 18-year struggle that began after using heroin just two times when he was just 16.

Due to COVID, private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of visitation and flowers, his father asks for prayers for his son and for all of those that suffer from addiction. His father also asks for prayers for the arrest and conviction of the POS who sold Mike the drugs that killed him.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
