Mary E. (Bartek) Noll, age 92, of 140 Nottingham Road, Bloomsburg, died Wednesday afternoon, June 16, 2021, at the Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital where she was a patient for two weeks.
Born in Ashley, Luzerne County on August 15, 1928, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary (Saylor) Bartek. She was a 1946 graduate of Ashley High School and a 1950 graduate of Misericordia College in Dallas.
Mary resided in Danville for five years before moving to Bloomsburg in 1955.
She was employed by Merck & Co. at their Cherokee plant in Riverside for 13 years earlier in her life.
A devoted member of St. Columba Catholic Church, she also belonged to the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a member of the Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary for many years, working in the gift shop and more recently knitting for infants. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends on a weekly basis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo E. Noll on Sept. 20, 2010; by a brother George Bartek, Jr and by a sister Joan Bowling.
Mary is survived by her son, Robert E. Noll and his wife Holly of Bloomsburg, a daughter, Ann M., wife of James McAvoy, Marcus Hook; five grandchildren: Michael Noll, Suzanne Noll, Jeffrey Noll, William McAvoy and Mary Kate McAvoy. She was the last of her immediate family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 21, 2021, at St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron Street, Bloomsburg, by her pastor, Monsignor Robert E. Lawrence. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Hanover Township, Luzerne County. Viewing on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
