Obituary

Joseph Annillo, Jr., age 80, of 61 E. Northampton St., Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully at 3:20 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Union City, NJ, on August 8, 1940, he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret E. (LaGuardia) Annillo. He was a graduate of Union Hill High School in New Jersey.

He was last employed as a car salesman. Joe previously worked as a toll collector for the New Jersey toll highways and as a retail store department manager. He was a veteran and his passions were volunteering at his church and as an Ambassador in the Community Living Center (CLC) and as a member of the Knights of Columbus.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brian J. Annillo, and by two sisters: Marie Hollenbeck and Theresa Witham.

Surviving are two children: Donna A. Verdes and Joseph Annillo III; two grandchildren, Kitara Annillo and Tanis Annillo; two sisters: Margaret, wife of Nicholas Ricciuti, and Rosann, wife of Reginald  Goodman; many nieces and nephews and his significant other, Bernice Cassidy, of Wilkes-Barre.

There will be no services at this time, hopefully in the spring he will eventually be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery in Rutherford, New Jersey.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in his memory to Voluntary Services at Wilkes-Barre Veterans Medical Center (should you decide this option, the donation would be made to the Community Living Center-CLC and/or Homeless Program). The check should be be made payable to the WB-VAMC and in the memo area designate Community Living Center (CLC) and or Homeless Program and sent to:

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3235 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
