Frank A. Swartz, age 88, of 11 Dickson Avenue, Danville, died at 11:58 a. m. Monday, October 19, 2020 at the Grandview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Danville where he resided for the past year.

Born in Rush Township, Northumberland County on April 3, 1932, he was a son of the late Howard and Hazel (Pursel) Swartz. He resided in the Danville area most of his life and was a 1950 graduate of Danville High School.

Frank was last employed by the U. S. Postal Service working out of the Danville Post Office as a letter carrier for 40 years, retiring in 1997.

He served his country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Air Force, stationed in Iceland and Florida. He was a life member of American Legion Post 40, Danville and also belonged to the Friendship Fire Company. Frank loved dogs, caring for his home, gardening and yardwork.

Frank loved antique cars and is a former member of the Antique Car Association. He was an avid bowler for many years, bowling three times a week. In 1963 he made the 7-10 split.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, the former Joanne E. Kriner, on February 21, 2012; and by three brothers: Frank Swartz, Howard Swartz and William Swartz.

Frank is survived by his son, Randy S. Swartz, who resided with him; three brothers: Ray Swartz, and his wife Helen, Milton; Ralph Swartz, and his wife Margaret, Danville; Carl Swartz, and his wife Faye, Highspire; five sisters: Dorothy, wife of Tony Kline, Sunbury; Mary, wife of Robert Fisher, Lewisburg; Grace, wife of Kenneth Kauwell, Danville; Margaret, wife of Donald Everett, Danville; Evelyn, wife of Thomas Kerns, Danville and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at a time and place to be announced.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road Danville.
