Eleanor E. (Brown) Stere, age 69, of 104 Bellcurve Drive, Bloomsburg, passed away surrounded by her loving family at 12:39 a. m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was a patient for three weeks.
Born in Williamsport on April 25, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth Brown and Beverly J. (Avery) Laird. She attended Hughesville High School and spent most of her life in the Bloomsburg area.
Eleanor was employed by the former K-Cab Co., Bloomsburg for 29 years as a dispatcher. She was an avid reader and an excellent baker, especially of pies. A New York Yankees fan, she also was a fan of the Alabama football team and enjoyed watching Jeopardy. She enjoyed the time she spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Steven Brown, Kenneth Brown and Donald Laird and by two sisters: Clara Laird and Lisa M. Kobal.
Surviving are three children: Anna Marie, wife of Randy Prior, Bloomsburg; Jayson Stere, and his wife Tina, Bloomsburg; Christopher Stere, who resided with her; two granddaughters: Hannah Stere and Natalie Stere; three siblings: Sherri Cheon, Bloomsburg; Charles L. Laird, Jr., Wilkes-Barre; Michelle Laird, Bloomsburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 5 p. m. Wednesday, January 29, 2020, in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg. Visitation will be from 4-5 p. m.
