Elaine M. (Dymond) Baluh, age 88, of 1058 Ridge Rd., Orangeville (Bendertown), died at 7:43 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2020 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was a patient.
Born on June 27, 1932, in Kingston twp., Luzerne County, she was a daughter of the late Graydon and Florence (Updegrove) Dymond. She resided in Bendertown since 1979 and had previously lived in Oxon Hill, MD for 11 years.
Elaine was a 1949 graduate of the former Huntington Mills High School.
She was a member of the Town Hill United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the bible study group and assisted at the church festivals, where she was known as the “pie lady.” She was a crafter and a member of the Willing Hands Quilting group. She was also an advocate for platelet donations.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Baluh, Jr. on October 25, 1993, grandson, Craig E. Johnson in 2015, and a brother, Ted Dymond in 2014.
Elaine is survived by her daughter, Janet, wife of Richard Frede, who resided with her, a son, Jay J. Baluh, Hollywood, MD, and a sister, Ellen, wife of Henry Swelgin, Plymouth.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 13, 2020 at 1 p.m. at the Town Hill United Methodist Church, 417 Town Hill Road, Shickshinny, with her pastor, Tyler E. Rauhauser, officiating. Family will greet friends from 12-1 p.m.
