Dorothy J. Capobianco, age 92, of Bloomsburg, died at her home Thursday, January 23, 2020.
She was born in Toronto, Canada on April 3, 1927 a daughter of Hiram and Margaret (Dinsmore) McCallum. Her father was a former mayor of Toronto. She resided in Bloomsburg for the past eight years and formerly lived in Bradenton, Florida for 36 years. Early in her life she was employed as a flight attendant during the 1950’s.
Dorothy attended Shiloh Bible Church in Almedia and was a member of the West Bradenton Baptist Church, Bradenton, Fla. where she was active with the nursing home ministry. She belonged to the Kiwi Club, a group of former American Airlines flight attendants.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce McCallum.
Dorothy is survived by two daughters: Anna-Margaret, wife of Walter Fabisiak, Fort Worth, Texas and Mary Ellen, wife of Michael Secula, Bloomsburg; two sisters-in-law: Janet McCallum, Guelph, Ontario, Canada and Dolores Junkin, Millbrae, Calif. a brother-in-law, James Capobianco, Newton, N.J. and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020 at 11 a. m. in Shiloh Bible Church, 123 Church St., Bloomsburg (Almedia) with the pastor, Rev. Dr. Douglas H. Lyon officiating. The family will greet friends from 10 to 11 a. m. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Boston Mills Cemetery, Caledon, Ontario, Canada.
