Donald E. Shultz, age 85, 298 Arbutus Park Road, Bloomsburg, died unexpectedly at his home at 3:12 p. m. Tuesday, July 7, 2020.
Born on August 17, 1934 in Bloomsburg, he was a son of the late Donald V. and Kathryn (Evans) Shultz. He spent his early life in Millville before moving to Bloomsburg.
Donald was last employed as a truck driver by the former Fleming Trucking Co., of Danville. He was a longtime member of the Friendship Fire Co. which is now a part of the Bloomsburg Fire Department. He also belonged to the Fireman’s Relief Association. He enjoyed woodworking and was found of fishing. He was a former member of the Pennsylvania National Guard.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mary A. Taylor, with whom he observed their 66th wedding anniversary on January 19, 2020; five children: Kathy Shultz, Bloomsburg; Sandra, wife of Harry Zettlemoyer, Eddyville, Ken, Larry Shultz, Wilkes-Barre, Linda, wife of Joel Lewis, Bloomsburg, Michael Shultz, Berwick; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. He was the last of his immediate family.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Gordon E. Smith, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, Espy, officiating. Interment in Lightstreet “Highland” Cemetery. Friends may call from 9-10 a. m.
