Bernard J. “Bernie” Swankoski, age 63, of Catawissa, passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 8, 2021, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, surrounded by his family.
Born in Hazleton on December 7, 1957, he was the son of Helen (Homa) Swankoski of Freeland and the late Walter Swankoski.
Bernie owned PCPLUS, a computer consulting company, with his wife Linda, however his greatest talent and accomplishment was as a guitar player and musician playing with many local bands, including Totally Unplugged, with his wife.
Bernie was a master musician, delighting any who heard him with his skillful and “from the soul” guitar playing. He along with his wife spent over thirty years entertaining throughout the area with their music.
Bernie had many interests including computers, bowling, flying model planes, antiquing, and recently he discovered the joys of camping. He and his wife also spent many happy hours taking rides in the country with his beloved dog, Peanut. He will be remembered for his quick wit and humor, and devotion to his many friends and bandmates.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister Mary Louise Jordan.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife and soulmate, the former Linda Colosimo; a daughter Jayne Bromiley and her husband Brian; his three grandchildren: Isla, Nora and Cillian; two brothers, Walter and his wife Karen and Karl and his wife Cindy; a sister Judy Edwards and seven nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021, at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg with the Rev. Gordon E. Smith, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, Espy officiating. Interment will follow in Elan Memorial Park at Lime Ridge. Viewing will be from 10-11 a. m.
