William R. Young

William R. Young, age 67, of 615 WE. Front St., Danville, died on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born on April 13, 1954 at Geisinger Medical Center, he was a son of the late Lewis and Mildred Bernadine (Mazak) Young.

Bill was a 1972 graduate of Danville High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the U. S. Air Force on September 26, 1975 and faithfully served his country for 20 years before retiring on September 30, 1995. He resided in Maryland for a time before returning to Danville.

He was a member of the Friendship Fire Co. of Danville, serving as a firefighter for several years before becoming a fire policeman. At the time of his death, he was a lieutenant.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela G. Young.

Bill is survived by a sister, Jeri, wife of Frank Wysocki, Manassas, Va. and a brother, David J. Young of Danville and numerous friends.

Private services will be held.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road, Danville.
