William E. Hallisey

William E. Hallisey, age 76, of 131 Main St., Catawissa and formerly of Almedia died at 4:46 p. m. Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020, in the emergency room of the Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital.

Born in Preston, Wayne County on September 20, 1943, he was a son of the late John D. and Eleanor C. (Kaczka) Hallisey. He was a 1961 graduate of the Deposit Central High School in Deposit, New York.

Bill resided in Almedia from 1998 until moving to Catawissa in 2918. Early in his life he was employed by the Cellotex Corp. in Deposit, New York and after moving to Almedia he was employed at Liquitane, Corp. in Berwick, until retiring.

He was a member of the St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg.

Following high school, he served his country as a member of the U. S. Air Force, serving for four years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former  Geneva T. "Jean" (Wilkins) Zablocky,  on December 25, 2017.

Surviving are two brothers:   Gerald F. Hallisey, and his wife Carolyn, Susquehanna and John D. Hallisey, Sidney Center, New York; two step-daughters: Lucille Ikeler, Parkton, Maryland and Betty Z., wife of John Ebersole, Mechanicsburg and several nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services for his family will be held in the spring at Hidlay Cemetery in Scott Township. There will be no viewing.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
