Wendy Patterson Haedo, born Wendy Lou Patterson on November 25, 1955 in Wilmington, Delaware, to George Gifford Patterson and Marguerite Eleanor Blake, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026, in Catawissa, surrounded by the love of her family, just eleven days after the passing of her beloved husband, John Haedo, on May 8, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; and her three sisters, Bonnie Metheny, Gail Bickling, and Sue Dougherty.
Wendy is lovingly survived by her children, Jocelyn Williams of Catawissa and Matt Haedo of Chicago; her cherished grandchildren, Robert Williams, Marissa Williams, Joey Williams, Charlotte Williams, Lucas Haedo, and Jackson Haedo; and her adored great-granddaughter, Scarlett Williams.
Wendy was a hardworking and intelligent woman who spent her professional life as a systems analyst, including work with DuPont and Accenture in support of Department of Defense contracts. She built a career marked by discipline and achievement, but the roles that meant the most to her were those within her family.
A woman of few words, Wendy expressed her love not through grand speeches, but through quiet strength, steadfast presence, and unwavering care for the people she loved. Her wisdom and practical nature helped ensure her children were prepared for whatever life might throw their way.
Only through becoming parents themselves did her children come to fully appreciate the depth of Wendy’s sacrifices, resilience, and unconditional love, bringing them even closer to her as adults. Wendy found tremendous joy in becoming a grandmother and was, without question, the proudest Grammy in the world, embracing that role with deep love and quiet pride.
In retirement, Wendy enjoyed traveling to exotic destinations around the world and loved spending 10-hour days frying on sunny Florida beaches. She shared a contagious giggle that those who loved her will never forget.
The loss of both Wendy and John in such a short time leaves an unimaginable void for the family who loved them, but also profound gratitude for the lives they lived, the family they built, and the love they leave behind.
