Wanda J. (Pursel) Spayde

Wanda J. (Pursel) Spayde, age 89, of 240 Crabapple Lane, Bloomsburg passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at her daughter’s home where she resided for the past five years.

Born in Bloomsburg on July 15, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Oden Pursel and Valeria (Whitenight) Pursel Shaffer. A lifelong resident of the Bloomsburg area, she graduated from Bloomsburg High School.
Wanda worked at the former Magee Carpet Co. for two years early in her life. After that she was blessed to be able to stay at home and be a fulltime mother and housewife.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn M. Spayde, on August 4, 2014 and her brother Robert F. Pursel.
She is survived by her only daughter, Debra A. Crawford of Bloomsburg; two grandsons: Jason L. Crawford and his wife Barbara, Bloomsburg and Bryan G. Crawford and his wife Kimberly, Bloomsburg; three great-grandchildren: Kaitlynne Crawford, Menasha, Wis., Trystan Crawford, Bloomsburg, Payton Crawford, Bloomsburg; a sister-in-law, Joy G. Pursel and a niece Kathy Pursel , wife of Robert Williams, all of Boiling Springs, South Carolina.
Wanda’s first passion in life was her family and grandchildren. Second was spending a great deal of time working on her yard.
At the request of the family, there will be no funeral services or viewing.
