Virginia M. (Kreps) Howard

Virginia M. (Kreps) Howard, age 73, of Grove Ave., Catawissa, passed away on Tuesday January 6, 2026 at home surrounded by family.

Born on July 20, 1952 in Mahoning Twp., Montour County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Jean I. (Tillinghast) Kreps. She was a 1970 graduate of Lewisburg High School. She also graduated from the former Bloomsburg State College with a B.S. in Political Science. Virginia resided in Catawissa since 1991 and prior to that she resided in Bloomsburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter T. Howard, on May 7, 2015 and brother, Terry Kreps.

Surviving are her four sons, Caleb Mattern, of Briar Creek, Jesse Mattern, and his wife Monique, of Middleburg, and Ian Howard and Austin Howard, both of whom resided with her; six grandchildren: Terrence, Rakira, Zen, Kayra, Dakota, and Benson; and three sisters, Carol, wife of Roger Miller, of Newport Richey, Florida, Kathleen Szwast, of Odessa, Florida, and Linda Prutzman, of Milton.

At her request, there will be no services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
