Violet A. “Vi” (Eckard) Pellman, age 89, formerly of Bloomsburg died at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville on Wednesday evening, November 11, 2020 after an illness.
Born in Mifflin, Juniata County, on June 23, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Shelburn W., Sr. and Rose A. (Kauffman) Eckard. She was a 1949 graduate of Juniata Joint High School in Mifflintown.
Vi resided in Bloomsburg from 1986 till moving To Nottingham Village, Northumberland in 2016.
She was employed as a customer service person by First Columbia Bank & Trust Co., Bloomsburg for 28 years, retiring in 2013. Early in her life she was employed by the former Russell National Bank in Lewistown.
Vi was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church Bloomsburg and following her retirement she volunteered at the Church. She also volunteered at the Bloomsburg Hospital. Vi worked at the annual Bloomsburg Fair for many years. She was an avid reader.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death b y her husband, Rev. Donald G. Pellman on April 4, 2008 and by three brothers: Paul W. Eckard, Hayes W. Eckard, Sr., Shelburn W. Eckard, Jr. and by a sister, Marion E. Dillman.
Vi is survived by seven nieces and nephews: Glenn Snyder, Robert Eckard, Sherry Dillman, Robert Dillman, Hayes Eckard, Jr., Kathryn Dunn and Carole Davis.
She is also survived by Jennifer, wife of Nathan Ramsden and her children Wilson and Colin of Conshohocken, whom she loving referred to as her adopted granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a. m. in Wesley United Methodist Church, W. Third and Market Streets, Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Rev. Mark F. Reisinger, officiating. Interment will follow in Richfield Cemetery, Richfield, Juniata County. Viewing at the Church from 10-11 a. m. Please use West Third Street entrance.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
