Vaughn E. Wintersteen, age 76, of 21 Earnhardt Lane, Danville, passed away on Tuesday evening May 20, 2025 at his home.
Born on August 26, 1948 in Bloomsburg, he was the son of the late Nevin and Darlis (Baumer) Wintersteen.
Vaughn owned and operated the Wintersteen Brothers Garage out of his home from 1976 until December 2024.
He was a member of the Southside Fire Company and Danville Moose Lodge 1133.
Vaughn participated in tractor pulls. He loved watching NASCAR and was a Dale Earnhardt fan. He also enjoyed gardening, especially growing corn and tomatoes.
Surviving is his wife, the former Alice E. Mordan, with whom he celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on August 24, 2024; four children: Penny Hertzog, of Danville, Kevin Wintersteen, and his wife Marcie, of Danville, Kim Wintersteen, and his wife Melissa, of Pittsburgh, and Wendy, wife of Jerry Appleman, of Danville; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four siblings: Ira Wintersteen, Joan, wife of Tom Fox, Gail, wife of Albert Henninger, and Scott Wintersteen, and his wife Claire, all of Danville.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 24, 2025 at 11 a.m. in the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Rd., Danville, with Pastor Greg L. Molter, of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. Viewing will be held from 10-11 a.m.
