Valerie F. Martz

Valerie F. Martz, age 63, of Lower Mulberry St., Danville went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at her residence after a period of failing health.

Born at the Bloomsburg Hospital on Sept. 30, 1958, she was a daughter of the late Dale O. and Shirley I. (Chappell) Martz. She attended Danville High School, and was a lifelong resident of Danville.

She attended God’s Missionary Church in Danville. She was a member and former chaplain of the Women’s Auxiliary of VFW Post 298 in Danville.

Valerie was an avid fan of the Washington Commanders Football Team. She enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows and movies. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved vacationing with her son at Virginia Beach. She was an animal lover, who adored her cat, Tony.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her youngest brother, Darren Martz and her sister, Vickie E. Martz.

Valerie is survived by her birth daughter, Debra (Gemberling), wife of David Dressler, Sunbury; a son, Dereck Martz of Somerset; two grandsons, Anthony Davi and Brennen Davi; a brother, Dale O. Martz, Jr., Danville; one nephew, four nieces and multiple cousins.
