Thelma M. (Frey) Rubenstein, age 88, formerly of Stony Brook Circle, Orangeville died at 3:40 a. m. Monday May 17, 2021 at Vintage Knolls Senior Living Center in Danville where she resided for four years.
Born in Beaver Township on January 16, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Grover and Cora (McAfee) Frey. She was a 1951 graduate of the former Beaver Township High School and a lifelong resident of the Bloomsburg area.
A seamstress, she was last employed at Milco Industries, Inc., where she worked for many years before retiring.
Thelma was an active member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg. An avid gardener, she enjoyed flowers and birds. She enjoyed tole painting and sewing and was well loved by her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Charles C. Rubenstein, on April 11, 2017; by two brothers: Alvin Frey and Robert Frey and a sister, Evelyn Davis.
Thelma is survived by three sons: Charles R. Rubenstein, and his wife Ellen, Bloomsburg; Douglas L. Rubenstein, and his wife Linda, Bloomsburg; Gary M. Rubenstein, and his wife Mary, Moncure, N.C.; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron Street, Bloomsburg, by her pastor, Monsignor Robert E. Lawrence on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 10 a. m. The family will greet friends from 9-10 a. m. Interment will follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
