Terry L. King, age 69, of 231 Gulick St., Blossburg, Tioga County, died peacefully at the Williamsport Hospital on Saturday, August 13, 2022, surrounded by his family as he entered into the arms of Jesus.
Born in Bloomsburg on August 20, 1952, he was the son of the late Bernard and Louise L. (Fausey) King. He was a lifelong resident of Bloomsburg until a fire destroyed his home on November 30, 2020. He was a 1970 graduate of Bloomsburg High School and attended Bloomsburg State College.
Terry was last employed at Panera Bread in Buckhorn and prior to that he managed the bakery at Giant, served as an assistant secretary at Caldwell Consistory, was an agent for Modern Woodman Insurance Co., and was employed by Clair Hock Construction Co. for 20 years.
He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Bloomsburg, where he was a Warrior For Jesus, taught Sunday School and also Bible Study. He was an active Mason, serving as a member and Past Master of Washington Lodge #265, Caldwell Consistory, and as a 33rd degree Mason.
Terry was a soccer coach and referee, baseball umpire, and coached little league. He enjoyed playing fantasy football with his son-in-law Ryan, gardening, and eating out. The time he spent with his daughters and grandchildren was always very special to him. He was a Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Orioles fan. He loved to travel, especially to Disney World, Disney Cruises, and visiting Williamsburg, VA.
He was an avid hunter and enjoyed hunting with his daughter Kelsey and son-in-law Nate and Tom Hresko, and playing golf with his daughter Liz. He also enjoyed playing cards and watching Jeopardy.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was an infant son, Garrett Parker King on May 3, 1993 and his wife's parents, Jay and Edna Parker.
Surviving is his wife, the former, Jennie Ann Parker, would have celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on October 25, 2022 and they were together for a total of 52 years; two daughters, Elizabeth Sara “Liz,” wife of Ryan Salas, of Mansfield, and Kelsey Viola, wife of Nathanael Horkey, of Berwick; five grandchildren: Lily Horkey, Ayden Horkey, Elijah Horkey, Gabriella Salas, and Ava Salas; and a brother, Richard E. King, and his wife Betty, of Bloomsburg.
A celebration of life service will be held in Wesley United Methodist Church, Market and West 3rd St., Bloomsburg, on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 2 p.m., with his pastor, Rev. Mark F. Reisinger, officiating. Masonic memorial services will be at 2 p.m. followed by the religious services. The family will receive friends between 1-2 p.m.. Please use West 3rd entrance.
