Susanne L. Radice

Susanne L. (Duy) Radice, age 98, passed away on December 30, 2020.

A lifelong resident of Bloomsburg, she was born on January 21, 1923, a daughter of the late Albert W., Jr. and Virginia (Ely) Duy.

Susanne was a graduate of Bloomsburg High School and the former Bloomsburg Hospital School of Nursing, and became a Registered Nurse. She also had a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Bloomsburg University. She worked at both the Bloomsburg Hospital and Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. She was a member of the Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary.

She was a member of the Gov. William Bradford Compact and the Columbia County Historical and Genealogical Society. For several years Susanne was an active member of the Ft. McClure Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She also was an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Bloomsburg for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, the late Dr. Francis J. “Frank” Radice, who died on July 24, 2013 and by a brother William E. Duy.

She is survived by a son, Dr. Eugene D. Radice and his wife Karen of Bloomsburg, two daughters: Christine A. Radice of Troy, Va. and Catherine (Radice) Gedvilas of Tempe, Ariz. and three grandchildren.

Susanne was a kind and loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered for her generosity and love of family and friends.

A private service will be held at a later date for her family and close friends at Old Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg with a memorial by Mike Lyons of the Greenwood Christian Church. Flowers will be provided by the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.

It was such a privilege to know Mrs. Radice. What a sweet lady ! Always with a warm and welcoming smile. I enjoyed talking with her about her family and especially her grandchildren, of whom she was so proud. I will miss her. My sincerest condolences to the family.
