Stacy T. Frye

Stacy T. Frye, age 51, of 112 Hawk Ridge Road, Bloomsburg, died Sunday, July 19, 2020, in the emergency room of the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was taken after being stricken at his home.

Born in Knoxville, Tenn. On October 3, 1968, he was a son of the late Robert E. and Charlotte (McConkey) Frye. His early life was spent in Madisonville, Tenn. and he resided in Bloomsburg for 17 years.

Stacy was a 1986 graduate of Madisonville High School and also attended college in Tenn.

He was employed by Walmart for 26 years, starting as a stock man and cart pusher and working his way up through the company, eventually becoming an assistant manager, co-manager and for a short time a district manager.

Stacy was the manager of the Buckhorn Walmart when it opened and later managed the Mill Hall store before being transferred to Dickson City to manage that store, retiring due to his health in January, 2017. He was a beloved manager and inspired his employees daily.

He was a volunteer football coach at Bloomsburg High School. His interests included water skiing, traveling, fishing and in his younger life, playing softball. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his granddaughter.

Those who knew him and got to either play ball for him, work for/with him, knew how team oriented he was and what kind of leader he was. He was someone to look up to, someone that always knew exactly what needed to be said, right when you needed to hear it. We all knew how sarcastic and funny he was and let’s not forget subtlety either. Man was he quick with a joke. He sure knew how to move a room, whether it was him addressing his team at Walmart or him giving a speech before a game in the locker room, he made you want to go to war for him. He was such a powerful motivator and will continue to be for those that knew him best.

He was the best husband, father and grandfather (Papaw). He was intelligent, witty, hilarious, kind, infectious with his positivity and love for his family.

Stacy was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Scott (Swampy) Frye.

Surviving are his wife, the former Sherry Lynn Arp, with whom he celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary on May 16, 2020; two sons: Brandon Cole Frye, and his wife Darbee Kayla (Reed) Frye and Jake Austin Frye and a granddaughter, Marley Grace Frye, all of Bloomsburg.

Additional survivors are his mother and father- in- law, Chip & Jean Arp; a sister-in-law, Heather Nikole Arp and a future brother-in-law, Cory “Nighthawk” Helton, all of Madisonville, Tenn.
