Shirley A. (Roush) Swank, 83, of Mt. Zion Drive, Danville died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 after an illness.

Born in Sunbury on June 24, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Walter L. and Leona (Straub) Umstead.

Shirley was employed by the former Roselon Yarns, Inc., Geisinger Medical Center and last at the former Montour County Home, all of Danville.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 40, both of Danville. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family. She was an avid “Elvis” collector.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: William Roush and Walter Umstead, a step daughter Tina (Swank) Barry, a sister Jane Corey and a sister- in -law, Janet Freese.

She is survived by her husband, Henry A. Swank, Sr. with whom she observed her 60th wedding anniversary on June 24, 2025; a Son Henry A. Swank ,Jr. and his wife Jane of New Columbia; a step- daughter, Deborah wife of Brian Hoover in Florida; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty (Roush) Diehl in Florida; a brother Jim Umstead of Danville and a sister-in-law, Georgenia Kline of Bloomsburg, and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at American Legion Post 40, 425 Northumberland Street, Danville starting at 1 p.m. with Rev. Charles Swank officiating.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road, Danville.
