Shirley M. Koser

Shirley M. (Johnson) Koser, age 83, formerly of Bloomsburg, died at 5:45 a. m. Monday, August 19, 2019 at Vintage Knolls Senior Living Center, Danville, where she resided.

Born on March 24, 1936 in Derry Township, Montour County, she was a daughter of the late Harry C. and Helen (Fenstermacher) Johnson. She resided in Bloomsburg from 1980 to  2017 and previously lived on Danville R. R. #3.

Shirley was employed as an aide at the former Bloomsburg Health Care Center for about 25 years, retiring in 2005.

She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Columbia Hill.

Shirley enjoyed blue grass music, reading and walking.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Craig Koser, on November 15, 2015.

Surviving are five children: Roland D. Koser, and his wife Linda, Fallon, Nev.; Jeffrey O. Koser, and his wife Debra, Danville; Clay A. Koser, and his wife Barbara, Danville; Kay M. Rohland, Danville; Thomas R. Koser, and his wife Tila, Danville; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren;  three sisters: Nancy Baylor, Danville, Margaret T. Abate, Clinton, New Jersey and Anna Kressler, Bloomsburg. There also are a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a. m. in the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road, Danville,  with Rev. Trevor J. Hahn officiating. Interment in Columbia Hill Cemetery. Viewing Saturday from 10 - 11 a. m. The family will provide flowers.

To a woman who was like a second mom to me and treated me like one. she always told it like it was.. loved to laugh..was always the glue to the foundation of her family. Shirley...I love you and will miss you so very much. Save my seat at the table for much later...as i know you are there. Love and condolences to the Koser family.
