Shirley A. Eveland

Shirley A. Eveland, age 82, 234 Union Avenue, White Deer, Union County, died at the Watsontown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 6:335 p. m. Her death followed a lengthy illness.

Born in Atlantic City, New Jersey on June 30, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Donald B. and Alice (Miller) Eveland. She resided in White Deer for a number of years and previously lived in Danville, Riverside, Bloomsburg and Catawissa.

Shirley was last employed by Danville State Hospital, Danville, as a dietary aide, working there for five years, retiring in 1981 due to becoming disabled.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Jean Byers.

Shirley is survived by two sons: Ray Edward Hoffman, Jr., and his wife Jane, Bloomsburg and Donald Russell Eveland, Northumberland; a daughter, Lisa Dawn Brown, Turbotville; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters: Margaret, wife of William James, Danville and Rosemary Ross, Middleburg; and several nieces and nephews.

At her request, there will be no funeral services or viewing.
