Samuel S. Williams, Sr., Age 77, of 193 Welliver Road, Danville, died on Friday, July 17, 2020, at Manor Care in Sunbury where he was a patient since August, 2017.
Born in Sunbury on Dec. 31, 1942, he was a son of the late Alvin S. and Mildred (Shultz) Williams. He resided in Danville for many years.
Sam was employed by Weis Markets, Inc., Sunbury as a truck driver for 32 years, retiring on disability in May, 1996.
He was a member of the Washingtonville Lutheran Church and of the Chillisquaque Coon Club.
Sam served his country by serving with the United States Marine Corps from June, 1960 to June, 1964.
Surviving are his wife, the former Donna J. Tanner with whom he observed his 32nd wedding anniversary on August 1, 2019; six children: Samuel S. Williams, Jr. and his wife Pamela, Tamaqua, Raymond Williams and his wife Dawn, Milton, Angie Deivert, Sunbury, Christopher Scott Williams, Danville, Melissa Marie Williams, Danville, Courtney Ann Williams, Danville; nine grandchildren: Justina, Morgan, Brooke, Lindsay, Zack, Logan, Dillon, Mason, and Trinity Starr Williams; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bessie Ann Reabuck.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at 2 p. m. in the Columbia Hill Cemetery with Pastor Greg Molter, of St. Paul’s Emmanuel United Methodist Church officiating. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 40 Honor Guard of Danville.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road, Danville.
