Ruth (Donar) Reichart

Ruth (Donar) Reichart, age 96, of Bloomsburg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning January 7, 2026 at Brookdale Senior Living in Bloomsburg.

Born on September 24, 1929 in Black Creek Township, Luzerne County, she was the daughter of Alfphonso and Mary (Alliprandini) Donar. She was a 1947 graduate of Rock Glen High School and she graduated from the McCann School of Business in Hazleton.

Ruth was employed by Penn State University at the Hazleton campus as an assistant to the Director of Academic Affairs for many years.

She was a devoted member of St. Columba Catholic Church in Bloomsburg.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, C. Richard “Dick” Reichart on November 17, 2017.

Surviving are her niece, Patricia, wife of William Underwood, of West Chester and nephew, James Burnes, of Hatfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday January 13, 2026 at 11 a.m. in St. Columbia Catholic Church, 342 Iron St., Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Rev. Richard J. Mowery, officiating. Viewing will be held from 10-11 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Black Creek Township, Luzerne County.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
