Ruth Ellen Hartman

Ruth Ellen Hartman, age 80, of Ridgecrest Dr., Bloomsburg, passed away on Sunday October 26, 2025 at her home under the care of Compassus Hospice.

Born on December 8, 1944 in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Myrtle (Smith) Burkhart. She was a 1962 graduate of Downingtown High School and resided in Bloomsburg since 1992. Earlier in her life, she spent time with her husband in Germany while he was serving in the Air Force.

She worked with her husband making miniature glass items. She enjoyed going to miniature shows and antique shows with him.

Ruth also enjoyed collecting dolls. She loved talking and visiting with people and offering any help that they may have needed.

Surviving is her husband, Phillip D. Hartman, with whom she celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on April 9, 2025; son, Scott W. Hartman, of McLean, New York; and two sisters, Helen, wife of Larry Lewis, of Magnolia, Delaware and Betsy, wife of David Lamp, of Travelers Rest, South Carolina.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
