Roy I Yeager

Roy I. Yeager, age 86, of 397 Bear Gap Road, Elysburg, died at his home at 9:14 a. m. Saturday, December 15, 2018 after  having been  in failing health for six months.

Born in Cleveland Township on February 12, 1932, he was a son of the late John and Florence (Artley) Yeager. He attended the former Wynn's School at Bear Gap.

Roy was last employed by Kawneer, Corp., Bloomsburg, working there for 25 years before retiring in 1994. Earlier he was employed by the former Magee Carpet Co., Bloomsburg and at Cabinet Industries, Inc., Danville.

He was a talented repairman who loved to tinker, work in his shop and could repair almost anything. His family was very  important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren.

Roy served with the U. S. Army in Korea from December, 1955 until September, 1957.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Betty E. Bennett , on  February 8, 2013; by a grandson, Justin Seidel; by two sisters: Betty Lorencen and Dorothy Linn; and by a brother, Melvin Yeager.

Roy is survived by three sons: Barry N. Seidel, and his wife Cheryl, Bloomsburg; Jeffrey S. Seidel, and his companion Lois Williams, Millville; B. Scott Yeager, and his wife Cindy, Catawissa; six grandchildren: Rachel, McCartney, Marc, Lexi, Jarad and Joshua;  one great-granddaughter; a sister, Mary, wife of Marvin Levan and a brother, John Yeager, and his wife Debbie, all of Catawissa.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg. Military honors will be provided by the combined veterans honor guard. Friends may call from 10- 11 a. m. Private burial will take place in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville.
