Roxanne Hittle Shovlin

Roxanne Hittle Shovlin, age 74, of 15 West Creek Road, Benton, died peacefully with her family by her side at 12:05 p. m. Thursday, September 2, 2021.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on February 11, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Myrtle (Faust) Arnold. Her early life was spent in Mountaintop and she was a 1965 graduate of Crestwood High School. She resided in the Jonestown section of Fishingcreek Township for a number of years and following the death of her first husband, John Lee Hittle on May 20, 1980, she moved to Wilkes-Barre. She resided with her daughter in Benton for the past two years.

Earlier in her life she was employed at the Milco Industries, Inc., plant in Benton.

Roxanne was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ while residing in Jonestown. Her favorite time was spent with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Joseph Shovlin; a granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Hittle on May 3, 1998; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Ann Hittle on May 29, 2020; two sisters: June and Joan and a brother Ted.

Surviving is a son, John R. Hittle, Wilkes-Barre, a daughter, Julie A. Slusser with whom she resided in Benton; four grandchildren: Christopher Slusser, Samantha Slusser-Hazlak, Jacob R. Hittle, Stephanie Mercer; eight great-grandchildren: Christopher, Serenity, Damon, Skylynn, Matthew, Kaydyn, Sophia, Kaeli; and three sisters: Ruth, Sue and Florence.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021 at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg with Pastor Mike Delp officiating. Viewing from 1-2 p. m. Interment at the convenience of the family in Zion Cemetery, Fishingcreek Township.
