Rosalyn "Lynn" Golden

Rosalyn "Lynn" (Portnoy)  Golden, age 91, of 1115 Eighth Ave., Berwick, died peacefully on Thursday at 6:27 a. m. while a guest at Grandview Health & Rehabilitation in Danville.

Born in New York City on August 12, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Morris and Lilly (Cohen) Portnoy.  Her early life was spent in New York and she resided in Bloomsburg for a number of years before returning to New York. She resided in Berwick since 2011

Rosalyn was employed as a sales clerk in several  women's clothing stores in Bloomsburg and New York.

She was a member of the Christian Science Society.  She enjoyed her daily reading, travel,  and the opera. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her brothers and sisters and her nieces and nephews as well as doing things with her granddaughter, Dara.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Golden on August 4, 1997 and by three sisters: Florence Tannenbaum,  Sonya Domnitz and Marsha Friedman.

Rosalyn is survived by two sons: Donald Golden, Berwick and Dennis Golden and his wife Christine, South Carolina;  six grandchildren:  Dara Golden-Kieski ,  and her husband Matthew;  David Golden, and his wife Cassandra; Andrew Golden;  Jeremy Golden; Kalianne Golden;  Mark Slusser;  five great-grandchildren;  two brothers: Allen Portnoy, Boynton Beach, Fla. and Neil Portnoy, and his wife Diana,  Cornel, N.Y. and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg. Interment will follow in Creveling Cemetery. Friends may call from 1-2 p. m.
