Ronald G. Temple

Ronald G. Temple, 76, of Millville passed away at his home, surrounded by family on the morning of April 15, 2021.

Ron was born on July 27, 1944. He was the son of the late Bernard and Leota (Stackhouse) Temple.

Ron graduated in 1962 from Millville High School and spent most of his adult life in the Millville area.

While in high school Ron was a decorated three sport athlete lettering in baseball, soccer and basketball. After high school, Ron was drafted into the United States Army, serving an 18-month tour of active duty in Vietnam building air strips.

Ron married his high school sweetheart, the late Kathleen (Zeisloft) Temple on Oct. 18, 1963 and enjoyed 56 years of marriage and friendship.

Ron enjoyed tending to his garden, hunting, fishing and farming, as well as supporting his grandchildren at their various sporting events and school activities. He also really enjoyed long rides together with his wife Kay throughout the countryside.

Ron spent most of his adult life working as a heavy equipment operator for Zeisloft Construction finishing his career with Crawford Excavating. He retired in 2007 after a very successful 40 years in the excavating business. While working with Zeisloft Construction, he was instrumental in local building bridges and housing developments including Foxtail.

Ron, known to his grandchildren as PAPPY, will be most remembered for his genuine kindness, integrity, work ethic, humility and respect for other people. Like his beloved wife Kay, Ron will be best remembered for his love of family, friends and grandchildren. Ron spent countless hours going to his grandchildren’s sporting events including baseball, soccer, lacrosse, football, basketball and field hockey. Pappy also made sure to attend all of their school activities from chorus, band and dance concerts.

He spent a considerable amount of time at his family homestead farming, gardening, logging and most importantly hunting. These activities brought him fulfillment, happiness and content in his daily life which led to his unbelievable amount of patience.

Ron is survived by his three children: son Patrick (Tami) Temple, Bloomsburg, daughter Jennifer (Todd) Anderson, Bloomsburg, son Steffen (Tiffany Shoemaker) Temple, Chadds Ford, PA as well as six grandchildren, Paige and Ryan Temple, Nicholas and Madeline Anderson, and Graham and Emery Sage Temple: sibling Rita (Eddie) Houseknecht, Millville, PA. Ron also had many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews who will miss him as well.

The family would like to sincerely thank the countless healthcare professionals at Geisinger Knapper Clinic, Geisinger Hospice, Dr. Hergan, and the pancreatic team at John Hopkins Hospital for their care and compassion throughout the past 4 years with his courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Dean W Kriner Inc Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 325 Market St, Bloomsburg with his pastor, Rev. Robert W.
