Robert J. “RJ” Savage, age 77, of 11 Evans Lane, Orangeville died on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at The Gardens At Orangeville where he had resided for six years.
Born in Catawissa on August 8, 1943, he was a son of the late Wellington F. and Lois N. (Trainer) Savage. His early years were spent in Catawissa and he attended Southern Area High School. He resided in Bloomsburg most of his life.
RJ was last employed at Mellick’s Aqua Feed in Catawissa and earlier he was employed by the Bloomsburg Hospital in the boiler room.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Catawissa, where he was a former usher. A life member of the Bloomsburg Fire Department, he was a former assistant fire chief. He was a hunter and Philadelphia Phillies fan and also collected Hess trucks.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Jean B. Savage and Janet Krick.
Surviving are his wife, the former Donna L. Hess, with whom he observed their 19th wedding anniversary on May 5, 2020, a son, Donald Ray Savage, Berwick, two daughters: Marie Elizabeth Savage, Berwick and Patricia Ann Savage, wife of Thomas Beachel, Herndon, two step- sons: Michael Natale, Bloomsburg and Matthew Natale and his wife Raye, Elysburg, a step-daughter, Elizabeth Natale, Orangeville, seven grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, a sister Jane Weller, State College, a brother Harold Savage and his wife Barbara, Catawissa, and a number of nieces and nephews.
There will be no funeral services. Interment will be made at the convenience of the family in Hillside Cemetery, Catawissa.
