Robert H. “Bob” Welliver, age 87, 2002 Sunbury Road, Danville, died at 10:05 a. m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at his home after an illness.

Born in Rush Township, Northumberland County on October 16, 1929, he was a son of the late Thomas and Fianna (Rebuck) Welliver. He resided in Rush Township all of his life and was a 1948 graduate of Danville High School.

Bob was employed at Danville State Hospital for30 years as an occupational therapist, retiring in 1988.

He was a life member of the Danville Moose Lodge and the Southside Fire Co, Riverside. Bob also belonged to the Continental Fire Co and American Legion Post 40, Danville.

Bob was an avid bowler and enjoyed woodworking.

He served with the U. S. Army Medical Corps from 1950 - 1952 in Germany during the Korean War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother William Welliver.

Surviving are his wife, the former Alice Katinsky, with whom he observed  his 41st wedding anniversary on February 28, 2017;  two daughters, Cathy, wife of Robert Hickey, Washingtonville and Debra Stecker, Hinella, New Jersey; a son, Keith P. Ruths, Riverside; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was the last member of his immediate family

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with interment in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville.
