Robert G. Augustitus, Sr.

Robert G. Augustitus, Sr., age 65, of Shamokin, passed away on Monday August 3, 2026 at the Geisinger Shamokin Hospital.

Born on May 29, 1961 in Hazleton, he was the son of the late George R. and Phyllis A. (Cerullo) Augustitus. He was a 1978 graduate of Hazleton High School.

Robert owned a construction company, and he also sold and installed windows and doors. Prior to that, he worked as a salesman and in management for various companies.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Isabell Mickle.

Surviving is his wife, the former Catherine A. Palmer, with whom he celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary on December 24, 2025; eight children: George Augustitus, of Freeland, Robert G. Augustitus, Jr., and his wife Angela, of Beaver Meadows, Kristen, wife of Ryan DeRitis, of Albrightsville, Catherine, wife of Jeffrey Llewellyn, of Claremont, New Hampshire, Jacquelyn, wife of Robert Carapellucci, of Hazleton, Jennifer Kozlowski, Pia, wife of Karim Elfeky, and Maggie Kozlowski, all of Basking Ridge, New Jersey; five grandchildren: George, Jayden, Nico, Brenden, and Tina.

Also surviving are his brother, Joseph Augustitus, and his wife Gabrielle, of Derby, Connecticut; and sister, Marianne, wife of John Esposito, of Delaware.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday August 8, 2026 at 10 a.m. in the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 131 E. 4th St., Hazleton, PA, with Rev. Shawn Simchock, officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
