RICHARD  L.  "Rich"  REIFENDIFER,  SR.

Richard L. "Rich" Reifendifer, Sr., age 65, 217 Summit Ave., Bloomsburg died at his home at 10:30 a. m. Tuesday, May 31, 2011,  after being in failing health for several years.

Born on January 18, 1946 in Bloomsburg, he was a son of the late James C., and Mary F. (Butz) Reifendifer.  He spent his early life in Bloomsburg, before residing in Newark, Del. for a number of years, returning to Bloomsburg in 1980.

Rich was last employed by Bloomsburg University as a custodian, retiring on disability in 1996. Earlier he was employed at the Berwick McDonalds restaurant and the former Citgo Gas Station in Scott Township.

He was a social member of the Millville American Legion Post and the Catawissa VFW Post.

Surviving are his wife, the former Karen G. (Kershner) Allen, whom he married on June 13, 1992; five children: Richard L. Reifendifer, Jr., and his wife Janet, Blairsville; Carrie Ann, wife of Gary Newsome, Latrobe; Rochelle, wife of David Raup, Ford City; Georgetta, wife of Jack Wynings, Bloomsburg; Tracy, wife of Thomas Babb, Berwick; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six siblings: Rena, wife of Max Setzer, Buckhorn; George Reifendifer, and his wife Barbara, Millville; Rose, wife of Dale Stackhouse, Millville; Thomas Reifendifer, and his wife Debra, Millville; Judy, wife of Laszlo Balla, Bloomsburg; and Joan Kline, Orangeville.  There are also several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, James Reifendifer and by four brothers: James Reifendifer, Lloyd Reifendifer, Frances (Babe) Reifendifer, and Charles Reifendifer.

Friends may call on Saturday from 3-5 p. m. at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.

Memorials may be sent in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
