Ramona E. (McHenry) Diltz, age 82, 15 Kingsbury Drive, Benton (Central) died at 2:10 a. m. Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the Berwick Hospital Center in Berwick where she was a patient.
Born in Bloomsburg on July 25. 1937, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Frieda (Palmer) McHenry. A lifelong resident of the Benton area, she was a 1955 graduate of Benton High School.
Ramona was employed as a waitress at the Brass Pelican Restaurant in Elk Grove, retiring at the age of 75. Earlier she was employed at the former Dockey Shirt Factory and the Milco Industries plant, both in Benton.
She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Central. She enjoyed playing bingo and collecting dolls. One of the highlights of her life was a trip she and her late husband took riding his motorcycle across the entire United States.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John I. “Koon” Diltz, on January 23, 1995.
Surviving are a daughter, Monica L. Diltz, with whom she resided in Central; a son, J. Steven Diltz, Benton; a grandson, Christopher S. Diltz, and his girlfriend Kim Bray, Benton; a brother, Richard McHenry, Montgomery; two sisters: Rosemary Shultz, Bloomsburg and Audrey Frey, Benton. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews, and also a great granddaughter, Ryleigh Bray.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a. m. in the Christ United Methodist Church 940 Central Road, Benton (Central) with her pastor, Rev. Howard W. Leh, officiating. Interment will follow in the Waller Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church from 10-11 a. m.
