Ralph E. “R2” Reedy, Jr., age 49, of 114 Hawk Ridge Road, Bloomsburg, died at his home at 10:14 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2018 after an illness of 4 ½ years with his family by his side.

Born in Bloomsburg on March 7, 1969, he was the son of Ralph E., Sr. and Susan (Hunsinger) Reedy of Danville. He was a lifelong resident of the Danville-Bloomsburg area.  A 1987 graduate of Danville High School, he also attended East Carolina State University in Greenville, North Carolina.

Ralph was a certified  personal trainer and owned the former CYBfit, a  fitness studio in Bloomsburg, where he inspired others to live their best life through physical fitness.

He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Columbia Hill. Ralph was active in scouting at a young age and encouraged his sons to follow. He was a former Cub Master of Pack 50, Buckhorn.  

Ralph enjoyed spending time outdoors, taking care of his chickens, gardening and especially landscaping. He built an outdoor deck at his home and also a wood fired pizza oven. He also enjoyed fresh air, top- down cruising with sunshine on his face.

He loved listening to music, dancing, abstract painting, entertaining friends and family at outdoor parties, telling them "Bring your favorite toppings for the pizza". His dogs were Rocco and Neko.

Preceding him in death was an infant son, Evan Lewis Reedy.

Surviving in addition to his parents is his wife, the former Janet L. Eli, whom he married at Niagara Falls on September 11, 1999; his grandmother, Dolores A. Reedy, Lewisburg; two sons: Tate Eli Reedy and Mitchell Thomas Reedy, both at home; his sister and best friend, Stacy, wife of Chris Cole; two nephews: Michael Babb, and his wife Maria and Jonathan Babb; a great niece, Ava Babb, all of Danville; and his lifelong friends, Tom “Spike” and Carol Quick of Danville.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 4 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. R. Christian Dunlap, Geisinger Hospice Chaplain officiating. The family will greet friends from 2-4 p. m.

The family will provide flowers. Memorials in Ralph’s memory are suggested  to the Bloomsburg Area YMCA, designated for youth fitness programs, 30 E. Seventh St., Bloomsburg, PA 17815.

A  celebration of Ralph's life  is planned for the near future and will be announced.
