Pietro L. Guarino

Pietro L. Guarino, age 58, 38 Tyler Road, Danville, died at 8:43 p. m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2019 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was a patient.

Born in Caracas, Venezuela on June 22, 1961, he was a son Giovanna  (Papaleo) Guarino of Palermo, Sicily and the late Ingnazio Guarino. He resided in Danville since 2003 and formerly  lived in Mifflinburg.

Pietro was the owner of the Original Italian Pizza restaurant in Danville.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Danville.

Pietro enjoyed watching soccer on television. The time that he spent with his family was very important to him  and he liked to "blast" music.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, the former Rosalia Vitale, to whom he was married for 31 years on Sept. 14, 2019; four children: Flippo Guarino, Fabio Guarino, Giovanna Guarino,  and Gabriele Guarino, all of Danville; and two brothers: Carmelo Guarino, Palmero, Sicily and Maurizo Guarino, Milan, Italy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a. m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Center Street, Danville, by Rev. Augustine Joseph, assistant pastor of the Church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Mahoning Township.

Visitation on Sunday (today) from 6-8 p. m. at the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home,  1133 Bloom Road, Danville. A Christian Wake service will be held at 7:30 p. m.
