Phyllis Rachel (Reeder) Oberdorf, age 98, formerly of Dahl Road, Bloomsburg,  passed away on January 25, 2021 at the Bonham Care & Rehabilitation Center, Stillwater where she received wonderful care.

Born on March 18, 1922 in Lower Augusta Township, Northumberland County, a daughter of the late John B. and Edna (Smith) Reeder. She graduated from Sunbury High School in 1940.

Phyllis was employed for 18 years at Merck Chemical Co., Riverside and last at Campbell Soup Co., in Lime Ridge, retiring in 1984.

She was a self- taught organist at Klinesgrove United Methodist Church for many years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Bloomsburg, since 1979.

Her sewing skills ranged from attaching patches to baseball uniforms and Karate outfits to emergency surgery on stuffed animals for her grandchildren. She had a special talent for baking an amazing variety of holiday cookies.

Phyllis was known for her tireless work ethic. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clement C. Oberdorf, on September 3, 1998 and by her daughter Susan Oberdorf, on December 10, 2019.

Surviving are two daughters: Janice I. Runyan, Jensen Beach, Fla. and Ruth A. Lunger of Bloomsburg; a son-in-law, Joseph Perotti, Shelby N. C., five grandchildren: Suzette Hendricks, Port St. Lucie, Fla., Edward Hendricks and his wife Sherry, Vero Beach, Fla., Julia Perotti, Shelby, N.C., Jennifer, wife of Keith Shulford, Shelby, N.C. and Mason Lunger and his wife Michele, Bloomsburg; seven great-grandchildren:  Carrie, wife of Michael Boling, Andover, Kansas, Kyle Hendricks and his wife Alexa, Vero Beach, Fla., Cameron Hendricks, serving with the U. S. Army, Reaghan Bramblett, Shelby, N. C., Kaitlyn Bramblett, Shelby, N.C., Jackson Lunger, Bloomsburg and Clayton Lunger, Bloomsburg; two step great-grandchildren: Collin Benintende and his wife Sammy and Logan Benintende, all of Bloomsburg; six great-great-grandchildren: Liam Hendricks, Emma Hendricks, Aiden Alfonso, Andrew Alfonso, Elizabeth Boling, of Andover, KS, and Grace Boling, of Andover, KS; a step great-great-grandson, Bentley Benintende.

Her family will be having a private gathering at a future time.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
