Phyllis J. Carr

Phyllis J. (Forney) Carr, age 79, of Chestnut Towers Apartments, Sunbury, died at 10:50 p. m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the Williamsport Hospital.

Born on April 17, 1940 in Mahoning Township, Montour County, she was a daughter of the late Charles H. and Blanche (Jackson) Forney. She resided in Sunbury since 1983 and previously lived in Riverside most of her lifetime. She was a 1958 graduate of Danville High School and also graduated from the Danville Area School District School of Practical Nursing in 1968.

Phyllis was employed by the Sunbury Community Hospital as a licensed practical nurse for 27 years, working mainly in the emergency room.

She was a faithful member of the Amazing Grace Community Church, Northumberland where she assisted in many activities and helped in cleaning the Church. She enjoyed attending craft shows with her mother for over 40 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a step daughter, Lynn Reed.

Phyllis is survived by two daughters: Tammi J., wife of Ramon Jimenez, Sunbury and Yvonne Miles, Hazleton; three step children: Ronald Mull, and his wife Sharon, Sunbury; Doris, wife of David Heemer, Trevorton; Floyd Carr, Jr., and his wife Jean, Middleburg; four grandchildren; 13 step grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; ten step great-grandchildren and a sister, Roberta Enterline, Florida.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, from 10 to 11 a. m. in the Amazing Grace Community Church, 138 Leed Street, Northumberland with Pastor Darren Hunt officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Street, Danville.
