Phillip B. Pellitteri, age 91, of Hazleton, died early Tuesday October 15, 2024 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton in Hazleton, where he was a patient.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on June 17, 1933, he was the son of the late Frank and Clara (Catalinotto) Pellitteri. He resided in Hazleton since 2001 and formerly lived in Coldspring, NY for 47 years. He was a graduate of the Irving High School in Sleepy Hollow, New York and also graduated from New York University in Manhattan.
He was an executive with the General Motors Acceptance Corporation for 39 years.
Phillip was an avid golfer until age 88. He also loved reading the U.S. Constitution and reading about the history of the United States.
He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in Canada as part of the strategic air command.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Irene P. Donlevy, on November 17, 2004.
Surviving are two sons, Dr. Phillip K. Pellitteri, D.O., and his wife, Felicia Michelle, of Bloomsburg, and Kenneth P. Pellitteri, and his wife Kerry, of Marysville, OH; four grandchildren; and his companion, Dianne French, of Hazleton.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 22, 2024 at 10 a.m. in the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with Rev. Gordon E. Smith, of St. John Lutheran Church, Espy, officiating. Viewing will be held on Monday from 5-7 p.m.
