Peggy M. Saweikis

Peggy M.  (Taylor) Saweikis, age 93, of 151 Ringtown Mountain Road, Catawissa (Numidia) died at 2:36  a. m. Thursday, May 16, 2019, at The Gardens At Orangeville, where she resided for six days.

Born in Bloomsburg on January 4, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Hurley and Pearl (Robbins) Taylor. She spent her lifetime in the Bloomsburg-Catawissa area. She was a homemaker.

Peggy was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Slabtown.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,  William W. Saweikis, on November 3, 1985 and by her brother, Otis L. Taylor, on March 9, 2019.

Peggy is survived by four children: Theresa Schramm Phillips, Benton; Mary., wife of Nicholas E. Fisher; William P. Saweikis ; and Charlotte, wife of Richard R. Stryker, all of the Catawissa/Numidia area.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren;  a sister, Mary A., wife of Donald E. Shultz, Bloomsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30 a. m. in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 304 Slabtown Road, Catawissa, by her pastor, Rev. Dennis G. Dalessandro. Interment will follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy.
