Paul V. Clossen

Paul V. Clossen, age 103, formerly of Orchard Dr., Catawissa, passed away on Sunday evening August 23, 2026 at Emmanuel Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation in Danville.

Born on November 13, 1922 in North Centre Twp., Columbia County, he was the son of the late Jay C. and Martha E. (Kirkendall) Clossen. He graduated from Centre Township High School.

Paul was a farmer and also held various jobs throughout his lifetime including for Kawneer, AC&F Co. in Berwick, and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. He also worked at Rohrbach’s Farm in Catawissa.

He was a founding member of Grace Bible Church in Catawissa. He was also a lay speaker. Additionally, he volunteered at Haven Ministries in Sunbury and the Challenge Team near Snydertown.

Paul was preceded in death by two wives, Sara M. (Wenner) Clossen, on January 18, 1968 and Lorraine (Woolford) Clossen, on March 13, 1924; and by a stepson, James S. “Steve” Brown.

Surviving are his seven children, Barbara A. Benson, of Paso Robles, California, Beverly V. Napierski, of Catawissa, Curtis F. Clossen, and his wife Trish, of Avis, Bonnie L. Yeager, of Aristes, Bette, wife of Kerry Arnold, of Sunbury, Craig E. Clossen, of Ashland, and Jay C. Clossen, and his wife Tammy, of Catawissa; 26 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews. He was the last of his immediate family.

Funeral services will be held on Friday August 28, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in Grace Bible Church, 209 McIntyre Road, Catawissa, with his pastor, Michael Wynn, officiating. A viewing will be held at the church from 9-10 a.m. Interment will be made in St. James Cemetery, Fishingcreek Township.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
