Norma J. Young

Norma J. (Barto) Young, age 82, 54 Lindsey Avenue., Danville, PA died at her home at 4 a. m. Monday, February 19, 2018 after an illness.

Born In Islip, Long Island, New York on July 31, 1935, she was a daughter of the late
George B. and Millie R. (Silverthorne) Barto.   She was a graduate of Seton Hall High School in Patchogue, New York.

She resided in Danville since 2009 and previously lived in East Greenbush, New York.

Norma was employed as an accounting clerk and switchboard operator by the Columbia High School, East Greenbush, New York for 36 years.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Danville.

Norma was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Young in 2004 and by two sisters: Mary Juanita Barto and Patricia Barto.

She is survived by two daughters: Dorothy “Doty”  wife of Reed Fisher, with whom she resided and Cheri Young, Denver, Colo.; 4 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter and five siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:30 a. m. in the Chapel of Maria Joseph Manor, 875 Montour Boulevard, Danville, PA 17821 by Rev. John Cyriac. Interment will be at a later date in Fort Hill Cemetery, Auburn, New York.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road, Danville.
