Nancy S. Kaderka
Nancy S. (Carpenter) Kaderka, age 67, 374 E. Third St., Bloomsburg, died peacefully at 1:14 p. m. Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at her home with her family by her side, after an illness.
Born on December 15, 1952 in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Canada, a daughter of the late Cyril and Ann (Steele) Carpenter. She resided in Bloomsburg since 1980.
Nancy was a graduate of St. John’s parochial school and received her B. A. degree from St. Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
She was the matriarch of her family raising two children and helping to raise five grandkids.
Nancy was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg where she sang in the choir earlier in her life. Her hobbies were reading, watching grandkids sporting events, taking long walks with friends, doing seasonal decorating for holidays, playing games with grandkids, cryptoquotes and watching Christmas movies all year long.
Surviving are her husband, Miroslav E. Kaderka, with whom she observed their 45th wedding anniversary on May 24, 2020, a daughter Mary Ellen, wife of Steve Brink, Mifflinville; a son, Patrick Kaderka, and his wife Jessica, Pittsburgh; seven grandchildren: Steve Brink, Derek Brink, Eon Brink, Marissa Brink, Meredith Brink, Jaina Kaderka, and Mara Kaderka; two sisters: Mary Ellen Carpenter and Joan Carpenter, a brother Thomas Carpenter, and a sister-in-law, Cathy Carpenter, all of Nova Scotia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 9, 2020 at 11 a. m. in St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron Street, Bloomsburg by her pastor, Monsignor Robert E. Lawrence. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. Viewing on Thursday, October 8, 2020, from 4-6 p. m. at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
