Nancy A. (Shuman) Hock, 95, formerly of Bloomsburg passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 while a patient at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
She was born in Bloomsburg on September 23, 1930 a daughter of the late John H., Sr. and Rowena P. (Patterson) Shuman. She graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1948 and went on to attend Beaver College in Jenkintown.
Nancy was a longtime member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ and a former Elder of the church. She was a proud member of PEO Chapter BK. A former member of the West Branch Choral group in Lewisburg and 4-H Club leader. She also belonged to the Christian Womens Club and was treasurer of the Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary for 25 years.
Her family was very important to her. She founded the Nancy Shuman Hock Foundation and was engaged in other philanthropic activities.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Dailey on June 10, 2021; her brother John H. “Jack” Shuman; and two sisters: Mary Middleton and Eleanor Shuman.
Nancy is survived by three children: Clair C. “Ted” Jr. and his wife Bonita Hock of Bloomsburg and twins, Julie wife of Charles Williams of Bloomsburg and John Hock and his wife Joanne of Timonium, Maryland; a son-in-law, James Dailey of Leesport; nine grandchildren: James Dailey and his wife Hannah, Elizabeth Dailey and her husband Jeff Suscewicz, T. J. Hock and his wife Kristin, Sabrina Hock and her partner Alex Cimaroli, Zachary Williams and his wife Kristina, Hazley wife of Tyler Yeager, Nicole and her husband Richard Motsey, Juliana wife of David Streett, Johnna wife of Joshua Brandt; 11 great-grandchildren with number 12 due in February; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 11 a. m. in Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, 260 E. Seventh Street, Bloomsburg with her pastor Rev. Steven C. Hummel officiating. Interment will follow on the Shuman family plot In New Rosemont Cemetery Espy. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 to 11 a. m.
