Melissa J. (Michael) Cragle, age 58, of Berwick, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born in Trevorton on May 26, 1967 a daughter of the late Charles and Madeline (Dobson) Michael. She was a 1985 graduate of Line Mountain High School.

Melissa resided in Berwick for the past 12 years and previously lived in Bloomsburg and Herndon.

At the time of her death she had been employed at the Press Enterprise since August 2025 and prior to that she was employed at the former Berwick Offray for many years.

Melissa was a regular blood donor. She loved the outdoors and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed the time she spent with her dog Frannie.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Kody Cragle on November 16, 2022 and by four siblings: William Michael, Barry Michael, Deb Weber and Charles Michael, Jr.

Melissa is survived by her daughter, Megan Cragle and her husband Dashawn Lightner of Bloomsburg; six grandchildren: Greyson Lightner, Georgia Lightner, Gabriel Lightner, Lucas Cragle, Kinsley Cragle, Araya Fisher; a brother Scott Michael and his wife Lisa of Herndon; a sister Rebecca Harris of Dalmatia; a daughter in law Heather Robbins of Berwick and a number of nieces and nephews.

A private celebration of life will be held at a time to be determined.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
