Mary E. (Knorr) DeMent

Mary E. (Knorr) DeMent, age 76, formerly of Bloomsburg died peacefully on Tuesday morning, June 11, 2024, at the Emmanuel Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Danville.

Born in New Castle on February 11, 1948, she was a daughter of the late LeRoy and Eleanor (Brady) Knorr. She was a lifelong resident of the Bloomsburg area and a 1966 graduate of Central Columbia High School.

Mary was a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and was employed by Sunset Ridge Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Scott Township and its predecessors for over 20 years.

She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed true crime stories. The time spent with her family was very important to her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Michael Knorr.

Mary is survived by four daughters: Melissa DeMent and her partner Jason Craig, Julie wife of Stanley Borem, Heather wife of Edward Fenton, Tara Kelly, all of Berwick; six grandchildren with one more on the way; one great-grandson; six siblings: Patricia Heath of Bloomsburg, Kathleen wife of Robert Slusser of Berwick, Eleanor wife of William Mazol of Danville, Anthony Knorr and his wife Phyllis of Danville, Paula wife of Delbert Miller of Catawissa, Karen wife of Frank Tomasacci of North Carolina and numerous nephews and nieces.

At Mary’s request, there will be no funeral services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
