Mary G. (Montague) Corey, age 92, formerly of Cherry St., Danville, died at 7:46 p. m. Saturday, April 11, 2020, at the Grandview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Danville where she was a guest.

Born in Mahoning Township, Montour County on February 12, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Martha (Ross) Montague. She was a lifelong resident of Danville and a 1947 graduate of Danville High School.

Mary was employed at the former Welliver Hardware Store in Danville following graduation and remained there until her marriage in 1950. She later was employed as a waitress at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club in Shamokin Dam for over 20 years.

She was a lifelong member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Danville. Earlier in her life, she was a bowler. She also enjoyed embroidery and knitting, making many blankets for babies at Trinity United Methodist Church and babies of friends in the community. She won many ribbons at the Bloomsburg Fair with her work.  For many years Mary and her husband, Bill, could be found at Little League games with their son Bobby seated in the family car.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, William D. Corey, on November 1, 2015 and by her only son, Robert William “Bobby” Corey, on October 25, 2018.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Suzanne, wife of James Musselman, of Danville, a grandson, Richard B. Campbell, Columbus, Ohio, a granddaughter, Stephanie, wife  of Zadoc Brown, Maui, Hawaii; three great-grandchildren: Kristin Campbell, Zadoc Brown, Declan Brown; a great-great granddaughter, Callie Campbell; and a sister, Florence Zimmerman of Sunbury.

Private services will be held, followed by interment in the Memorial Garden of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Friends may remember Mary by contributing in her memory to the Danville Area Community Center, 1041 Liberty Street, Danville, PA 17821.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road, Danville.
